Paul T. Masuda

Paul T. Masada joined Sozo Ventures in June 2022.

Before joining Sozo Ventures, he was the Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer and Senior Vice President of Yamato Transport U.S.A. Inc., part of Yamato Holdings Co., Ltd., the #1 logistics service provider in Japan. Before moving to the U.S., Mr. Masuda was a Project Manager of Yamato Holdings Co., Ltd., and Yamato Transport Co., Ltd., and led several strategic projects, including M&A projects in India, Vietnam and South Korea, and a joint research project with the National University of Singapore Business School. In addition, he was a Director of Book Service Co., Ltd., the first online bookstore in Japan. He developed the Direct Order and Delivery Services to solve the pain of back-order books between local bookstores and publishers without wholesalers. This solution won a CRM Best Practice 2005 award in Japan.

Mr. Masuda graduated from Rikkyo University, where he received a B.A. in Law and Politics in 1990. Also, he is a Certified Logistics Master of the Japan Institute of Logistics Systems.
