Paul T. Masuda

Paul T. Masada joined Sozo Ventures in June 2022.

He has over 30 years of experience in new business and innovation development, spanning logistics, transportation, and e-commerce. At Sozo, Paul helps entrepreneurs with global ambitions extend their business developments in the U.S. and Japan. He leverages his extensive network and expertise to create strategic partnerships and value propositions between leading startups and Japanese enterprises.

Before joining Sozo, Paul was the Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer and Senior Vice President of Yamato Transport U.S.A. Inc., part of Yamato Holdings Co., Ltd., which is Japan’s top logistics service provider. He led new business development projects with cutting-edge startups and transformed the corporate structure to enhance the customer experience and revenue growth. Before moving to the U.S., Paul was a Project Manager for Yamato Holdings Co., Ltd. and Yamato Transport Co., Ltd. He led several strategic projects, including joint venture projects in India, Vietnam, and South Korea.

Paul graduated from Rikkyo University in 1990 with a B.A. in Arts, Law and Politics. In 2000, he became a Certified Logistics Master at the Japan Institute of Logistics Systems.
